The Incredibles

Hey everybody. I went to see Pixars new feature yesterday, The Incredibles. I must say, this was one good movie, and really funny too. It's been some time since I laugh so hard at a movie, and the whole room just burst out into applause when it was over. If you're a fan of superheroes, this is the movie for you. Well. Enough of my rant... Here are some links:

In other news, I've bought myself a new, very cool keyboard, the Macally Icekey. I's not bad, though it's very white. And it's going to snow again today, *sighs*.

Take care,
David.

Goodbye Lenin!

Mein kleine kosmonaut...
Hey everyone. I just saw Goodbye Lenin!, a German movie about a guy whos mother ends up in a coma just before the Berlin-wall comes down in 1989. When she wakes up after 8 months, he decides to not tell her the truth, and makes her believe that DDR still exists. First of all, it's a very funny movie. And sad, and beautiful. It's probably one of the best German movies I've ever seen. Very good acting, and a nice sense of humor.
Bad thing; it was a screening at school and for some reason the bozos running the projector had messed up the aspect ratio, so everyone looked kind of fat. It've been out on DVD in Sweden for a while now, I think. You should see it.

about freeculture.org

There are many movements fighting for free culture, such as CopyLeft, Creative Commons (my own personal favourite) and of course, the entire open source movement. If you are interested, there is a new group emerging mainly in the U.S.A, called Freeculture.org. It's basically a studentmovement on campuses around the globe with a mission: to educate the public on the dangers of copyright. It's worth checking out...
A quote from their manifesto:
"We refuse to accept a future of digital feudalism where we do not actually own the products we buy, but we are merely granted limited uses of them as long as we pay the rent. We must halt and reverse the recent radical expansion of "intellectual property rights", which threaten to reach the point where they trump any and all other rights of the individual and society."

Peace out.

Ftpserver, part 1.

I spent a couple of hours last night trying to get my ftpserver up and running, with the help of PureFTP Manager, a really simple and sweet application. Easy to use, and so forth. Except it's not working. Could be that I was very tired (which I usually am at 3 in the morning), could also be that I'm kind of clumsy when it comes to these things. The problem is this: once installed no logging in to the ftpserver is allowed, not even using Virtual Users. Not even using the real user, or root.
Grateful for tips, tricks and of course, as always, love.

oh Darth

"For over a thousand generations the Jedi Knights were the guardians of peace and justice in the Old Republic. Before the dark times. Before the Empire."

The teaser for the next Star Wars-movie, The Revenge of the Sith, just came online at starwars.com. According to rumours the new movie is a big, big improvement in every way. Dialog, acting, story, everything. After seeing the teaser I'm not sure, though it sure is mighty cool to hear Darth Vader speak again.
The movie won't hit the screens until May 19th 2005.

May the force be with you, always.

Snug as a bug

I've finally found the perfect case for my iPod, the iPod Sock, knitted by Apple. Besides from being kick-ass cute, the Sock keeps the iPod snug as a bug. Perfect for the cold Swedish winters. No fun if the iPod catches a cold, right? Apparently the Socks comes in a pack of six, all in different colors, as you can see here. One for every mood? One for each day of the week? (except Sunday, of course, which is the day of resting. That means your iPod should stay in the dock. :-) )

President.

Yes, we have a winner!

Update:
Roblibob posted this link in the comments. Really funny stuff. It's a flash game... Or movie maybe. Anyway, it's funny. http://www.emogame.com/bushgame.html. Check it out. And then answer me this: Are you a hulkamanian?

Changing language...

Good folks of internet, congratulations!

My blog is going through a language change, from the clear and fine Swedish, to the weird and more confusing English. Don't know why, I must be suffering from a mild case of temporary insanity, or something. Just kidding... Seriously, I thought it would be a good idea to broaden my fanbase, and improve my english.

And what about that weird car, you ask? Well, it's Steve of course! The "englishest" car on earth.

Hej då!
